I started affiliate marketing way back in 2003. Never succeeded much during the start. Was much of a loser then and stopped altogether for a year. Later in 2005 I started off with Adwords and goofed up a lot of money. With Burned fingers I should have kept quite and I did. 2007 Got me inquisitive again and this time I started off with Social marketing as I had already gotten my fingers Burned with PPC. It was hard to tell you the truth. I had to sit and write articles over articles and submit to article directories, Create book marks and Do a lot of blogging. But over time I realized the revenue was slow and there was not much of money in it.

Social marketing was Slow Because I chose the wrong set of Sites to promote. I used Del.icio.us and a few other sites to generate traffic and amazingly it was not really so good a traffic Grabber As compared to some of the other sites which I currently use. It was also slow as I was choosing the really competitive keywords to beat the Competition. I was getting nowhere after 60 days of continuous Book marking and social networking (I made a decent 100$ from 6 sales from the 2 months work)

It was by accident that I stumbled (literally on Stumbelupon.com) on one of Ross GoldBerg’s site on Social marketing. Well the tall claims were not new to me as I have already purchased around 30 odd ebooks from guys like Corey Rudl to The niche annihilation guy. I wasn’t Skeptical. I knew like most ebooks that this is going to be trash. I will get a few points which are worth it. Something new which could evolve over time. Like when I purchased DJK(The so called Day Job Killer) I got a few points which actually worked…. I expected some good points from this one too. Well I got a few points which were really great which worked. What was interesting was the list of sites which were all social marketing and Networking sites. A few loads of blogs which are free (like Blogger.com) and at least 1000 Odd sites where you can simply post your links for free. Well that’s something very interesting.

I read through the book from start to end, cover to cover and there I was ready to re-implement the whole thing from scratch. I thought I was going to make the first million overnight and started off like a Maniac. It did not last for more than 3 hours when I was sleeping on my keyboard. Work continued for over 3 weeks when I saw some real good results. I made 400$ worth of sales in 3 weeks. CJ.com and Clickbank.com were the sources. The traffic were coming from 4 sites (Social bookmarking) and I had used one Particular site to pick up the most amount of traffic and sales. The Blog I created has been on top of Google and there was one Classifieds site which was actually getting me on top for a few of the keywords.

That’s 3 weeks of work and 400 $ … not much. I would simply be able to double it next month and probably by the end of the year have at least 4800$ in annual income, But nope. The next month saw 1000$ in sales. That’s something which got me hooked. Today I have around 1 Blog Post Which reviews any particular product on clickbank or CJ. I promote it from various sources to get traffic to the precise page. I have 306 Classified Ads to be precise which cost me less than 10$ per month (my only investment in marketing). And of course I do a lot of work every day writing articles and reviews on Products which I Buy regularly. (I have purchased the Sixfigureyearly.com and will review it soon). I don’t Buy the products to use them. I usually buy It to see if its worth the money for the potential buyer. I can simply say that Ross GoldBergs’ Product (the Traffic Manifesto as he calls it) is worth a buy for the resource he provides…

As for me I can just give you one simple page of additional information. The page is simply a list of Sites which I use from that of Ross’s List. These are good and they have the highest traffic. If you don’t have the time to submit your site to all the 1000’s of sites, don’t worry. Do it to the best 5.
